We need to encourage innovation in industry.


Upgrade - to improve something and make it more modern, especially in order to provide a better service

The hotel has recently been refurbished and upgraded.


Embed - to fix something firmly into a substance or solid object

An operation to remove glass that was embedded in his leg.


Phenomenal - very great or impressive 

The company has seen phenomenal growth.


Penchant - a liking for, an enjoyment of, or a habit of doing something, especially something that other people might not like 

Her penchant for disappearing for days at a time worries her family.

My thoughts on the talk : I was attracted by the title. I think we shouldn’t have too much contact with strangers but the speaker didn’t  think so. Through the class, I know this website. I read Episode 2：The Magic Contest The story about Pepper&Carrot p articipate in a magic game. At the game, Carrot is sleeping, so let Pepper feel embarrassed. Finally, Pepper&Carrot are  actually contestants and referees. The story isn' t as funny as other comics but it can help me learn English. I can read it when I have free time.
